Book Summary

It is a compendium of a good many invaluable articles and speeches written or delivered in response to different situations and consequently published in different forms in different journals, magazines and periodicals. Acknowledgements in due forms refer to all of them, as far as possible.

The dominant purpose behind presenting the book containing the articles in a compact volume is to induce the young as well as the senior learned readers to go deep into the contents of the articles and to feel inspired and thrilled to raise their voice against the social evils bedeviling the society of ours.

It is also aimed at highlighting the dereliction of duty on the part of the leaders who have been steering the society and the polity.

This drives the author to entitle the book as Noblesse Oblige. In other words, those who are in authority and privilege have some obligation and responsibility towards those who are far down it. Privilege, in short, entails responsibility.

The author fervently hopes that the book will serve the contemplated purpose and the society will be reformed and reborn, de novo, to address the grievances of the masses or the hoi polloi.
